Ellistar was a player in what turned out to be a Carleton University sweep of the Ottawa Centre for Research and Innovation (OCRI) Futures Awards. A nomination of the team's leader, Jim Pedersen, for Student Entrepreneur of the Year came to a welcome conclusion on 3rd April at the annual OCRI awards gala. Carleton also took the award for Student Researcher of the Year (John Houle), and the Des Cunningham award went to Luc Lalande for his efforts in forging business partnerships with education through his Foundry program. Notables who were on hand for the ceremony included Jeffrey Dale, who is the President and CEO of OCRI, Chris Henderson, the President/CEO of the Delphi Group, and local radio personality Mark Sutcliffe as MC.
